This was a Valentine's Day picture.

It's pretty much canonical that Amy does not know what Sonic actually looks like or only has a fuzzy idea of what he looks like, according to the 2000s games where they thought it would be funny to have Amy hug random strangers thinking that they were Sonic. So it's like every hedgehog-shaped mass is Sonic to her because of this, even though she's supposed to be obsessed with him. So this is where her calling Shadow Sonic 2 comes from.

I really wish this wasn't a thing that happened, The games after Adventure just screwed her over. It's a shame because her design is really cute.

So on this Valentine's Day, Sonic is nowhere to be found, as he tries to be scarce on this day for obvious reasons so Amy finds her Plan B, which is Sonic 2. Shadow tries to tell her that he's not Sonic but she's not listening because she's trying not to explode.
