Shardcole Summer Art Contest (Win Art and Points!)
Welcome everyone, to my very first art contest! The premise is simple, draw some summer themed ShardxNicole and win art and points!
Rules:
1: The focus of this contest is Shard and Nicole, and thus, this couple must be the primary theme and pairing in everyone’s entry in order to qualify for prizes.
2: You are welcome to draw other characters in the picture, either fan characters or other official characters, but Shard and Nicole should be the main focus!
3: For this contest, only visual art will be accepted. It would be far too difficult to fairly judge visual art versus writing. Comics are perfectly acceptable, though!
4.You can choose any theme you like as long as it relates to summer in some way! Have fun with it and feel free to be creative!
5.: Recolored or stolen art is not allowed and w

This picture was largely an excuse to draw the stripe pattern that I designed for Nicole. And it was an even bigger excuse to draw them glowing. Shard has his eyes and his power core to make him look like a walking glowstick, so I figured Nicole needed something to make her just as glowy. I've always liked the idea of Nicole having a lot more stripes than the ones that actually show, so they seemed like a prime candidate for the glow treatment. Credit for the idea behind this largely goes to :iconames-upside-down: because she was helping me brainstorm ideas for how to show the stripes off and her professional suggestion was something along the lines of: "OMG You know that thing with your shirt?! Like when you're sleeping and your stomach gets cold because your shirt gets all pulled up?? DO THAT" And so, I did :XD: She additionally added that the idea of Shard casually tracing her stripes in this scenario made it ten times more perfect, to which I wholeheartedly agree LOL
Recently, we've been referring to these two as the 'GLOTP', so that's a thing now XD

I'm still surprised this one got as much attention as it did, given it was just a doodle. I guess Shard's not the only one that likes Nicole's stripes! :lol:
