The ousted King of Mercia, Rob O'Hedge — cousin to Amy Rose.
With the unexplained disappearance of King Jon looming over the kingdom, Prince Rob was crowned King in his father's stead. However, an Overlander calling himself "The Baron" — a golden-haired dark-skinned human with a great disdain (and a taste) for Mobians- invaded with his army during the conclusion of the Coronation ceremony.
Most of the congregants were killed (and later butchered for their meat). Bleh Disbelief
Rob's men were able to pull their newly-crowned King from the chaos of the raid but remaining in hiding wouldn't be enough. With news of the Overlander invasion spreading fast, Irish the Hedgehoga wealthy merchant with a small fleet of ships leaves behind his fortune in order to transport the King and his party away from the Mercian Isle and across the ocean to Northamer.
In the days of the Elders, an alliance once existed between the Kingdoms of Mercia and Acorn, leading Rob to seek asylum for himself and his party from the current ruler of Kingdom Acorn: Princess Sally.
Sally honors the old alliance and gives sanctuary to Rob and his crew, allowing them to live amongst her people. This gives the Mercians time to recover from the devastation of the coup and plot their comeback. There's limited time to do this however, as The Baron's appetite is insatiable and all the subjects of Rob's former kingdom are on the menu.

Bullet; Green Captain Irish
Rob left Bow Sparrow, Mari-An and Thorn Lop in charge until he can regroup and return to drive The Baron and his fellow Overlanders from their territory. (Rob is currently single; he and Mari-An are close indeed but they aren't yet an item.)
