Based on the Special Stages from Sonic 1. The Special Zone is where Sonic usually gets the chaos emeralds from. I heard that the idea came when Yuji Naka(Sonic's creator) went to Rome and ate a poisoned piece of pizza and basically had one wild trip. He saw birds and clouds that turned into fish and bubbles.O_O
I think this piece looks very colorful, but I don't feel like I put enough detail in the BG.:( I mean, I try but I guess I'm just that lazy when it comes to BG's!XP
