Something I drew last month when I had the chance. Still not had a lot of time to draw, as personal life has still been kind of crazy. This was the only thing I really finished for that month as well, but at least it was something.
This time, I wanted to try something more with my new alcohol markers. Last time was Izuku, but I was really wanting to draw Chip, for some reason. Even after not getting around to it for a while, my mind still went back to wanting to make something of him with the markers when I came back around to getting them out. Guess the Sonic Unleashed love from recently replaying it is still somewhat fresh, haha. Anyway, I don't think I had ever drawn him on his own before, so I wanted a piece solely focused on him.
It may have turned out unintentionally similar to some of the official 2D artwork of him by Yuji Uekawa in posing…but oh, well. I wasn't sure what exactly I wanted to do. I thought of doing something a little more serious, but then thought of him holding chocolate, because of course. Sonic Channel already drew him with the Sundae Supreme once many years back for a wallpaper, so chocolate it is!
Not sure about the yellow for the background, either. I thought of going more minimalist on the background since I don't have many light colors in the marker shades, but I tried something. But I guess it's all right now that I've gotten used to it. Just the colors might be a little too similar. My scanner didn't even recognize the difference, LOL, so I had to manually edit the hues digitally to match the actual picture…. I generally enhance the colors after I scan artwork anyway, but this needed a lot of fixing. As per usual, the artwork looks better in person, too.
Despite those things, I think it still turned out all right. Still getting used to using the markers some, so I guess I can't expect it to be perfect.
Sketched and lined June 8th, finished June 10th, 2025. Drawn on Strathmore Marker pad, inked with micron pens, and colored with Ohuhu alcohol markers. White highlights done with white Gelly Roll pen.
