original description

This headcanon but in the way I draw Amy and the differences between species.

I think the hc is really interesting but I’m one of those losers that cares about realism so it wouldn’t be possible for Amy to be a hedgehog with echidna ancestry, BUT!!!! If you wanna hear my silly work around with that you can read it in the read more lol.

So in a simple way, I notice a lot of Mobian species have the same/similar color schemes (besides hedgehogs). Like the two cats we know are purple, most foxes are red, orange, or yellow, and pretty much all echidnas are red besides like two of them lol. In my head, hedgehogs have a little more variety in terms of coloring but are mostly very blue or blue-toned. Hog Amy is a blue-toned hedgehog for one reason or another. It’s an odd coloring for a mostly blue species, but not uncommon or impossible.

Echidna Amy has a little story to it in for me. The idea of echidnas all staying in this small clan until they were all killed off is possible, but what’s also possible is a couple echidnas leaving those tribes and Angel Island to be regular ol’ Mobians with other species. Maybe echidnas are not well liked amongst most Mobians because of their history of causing wars and death, so maybe Echidna Amy chooses to identify as a hedgehog for some time. Keeping her spikes shorter and using the excuse of those pinker hedgehogs to blend in. I can also just see her constantly being mistaken for a hedgehog because Echidnas are mostly extinct.

Anyways that’s just my silly ideas lol
